Once upon a time, we left the city, moved to the country, and got goats. In 2012, we transitioned to a registered herd. We strive to produce hardy, healthy goats while bettering the Nigerian Dwarf breed. Our goats are carefully selected based on genetics, show history, conformation, and milk production. Due to family commitments and disease prevention measures, we do not show.
What's Dixie Blue mean? It's a combination of our first dog's name (Dixie) and favorite color (Blue).
How We Raise Our Goats
As naturally as possible, but use chemical treatments when needed. Our goats freely graze and rotate on large pastures. We deworm based on physical signs and fecal tests, not on a schedule. Our closed herd is disease-free.
We have a deep respect for mothers caring for their young, so we dam raise kids unless bottles are required. Our little humans spend lots of time loving on babies each day. We consistently receive feedback our goats are social and lovable.
